According to Milan Djurdjevic, complex reconstruction of the "Old Cemetery" was initiated owing to the project of the City Municipality of Palilula approved 2009 by the Administration of Economy, Sustainable Development and Environmental protection of the City in the amount of 3.5 million RSD, first on the East gate . By decision of the City Council this year, conditions have been made for continue of works. For this purpose from the city budget will be allocated more 13.100.000 RDS.

"The destruction of the memorial complex and the facilities of our institutions are increasingly taking hold and concern. It takes vigorous action by all relevant services but and assistance and support of our citizens to stop this primitivism and punish the perpetrators. Instead of in this difficult economy situation, to help the socially vulnerable persons, part of the proceeds will go to clean the areas that are desecrated by unknown persons. The introduction of video surveillance, we expect the situation to change”, says Djurdjevic.
